The Holley Mfg Co. was one of the first companies to manufacture pocket knives in the United States beginning around 1844 in Connecticut.  The factory was located in Lakeville, CT and knives were marked “Holley Mfg. Co. Lakeville Conn.”  These knives were made with high quality materials and master craftsmanship.  Early handle materials included horn, jigged bone and genuine stag.  Like many of the early New England pocket knife manufacturers, their experienced craftsman spent time working at English firms such as George Wostenholm and Joseph Rodgers.  The later Holley knives were marked “Holley Lakeville” in larger letters.  Check out other great vintage knives from Waterville and Keen Kutter.
