Even though I enjoy focusing on vintage knives, my career has centered around education. I have taught high school science for 20+ years and continue to enjoy the many interactions with students and other teachers.
I am married and love spending time with our two children and watching them grow. They certainly keep us busy!
I have always enjoyed fishing (salmon, bass, etc) but have recently started to fish for trout in the cold streams and rivers of Northern Michigan.
As a child, my parents would bring me to antique shows and flea markets and I soon found myself looking for pocket knives to add to my growing collection. I enjoyed learning about the history of the companies in some of my knife books.
About 20 years ago I began buying and selling knives on eBay and I continue this day. In 2019, I started Oldpocketknives.com to provide a place where collectors (both new and experienced) could find out information and also find knives for their own collections.
